Do you know that you can use your card to make purchases at your favorite store using the Standard Bank Point of Sale machine (POS)? Avoid queuing at the ATMs and simply swipe for your purchases using your VISA debit card. You can also use the same card to make purchases on the internet (E-Commerce) and withdraw money outside Malawi anywhere where there is a VISA sign.

Paying for goods and services online has never been easier. Simply follow the below steps to make a payment on the internet:
Step 1: Visit the webpage of the online merchant (eBay, Amazon, Alibaba, Takealot.com etc…)
Step2: If you are a first time buyer you will be required to register as a customer in order to obtain log on credentials (Username and Password). Usernames are usually your personal email addresses. Make sure your PIN is strong enough to deter hackers.
Step3: Once you have registered as a customer, you will be required to log in using your credentials in order to select the items you would like to purchase.
Step 4: If you would like to know how much you will be charged for the item you want to purchase please visit https://usa.visa.com/support/consumer/travel-support/exchange-rate-calculator.html/ and key in 4% as the bank fee
Step 5: Select the items you would like to purchase and click on add to trolley icon usually at the top left of each merchant’s webpage.
Step6: Once you are done shopping click on the checkout button at the top left of the page and you will be directed to a page where you will be required to enter your card details.
Step7: Key in your 16 digit card number, the card expiry date immediately below the 16 digit card number and the CVV number which are the last 3 digits at the back of the card.
Step 8: Click on the pay button after keying in your card details and wait for confirmation of your payment!!
Step 9: If the merchant is secured by 3D Secure/ Verified by VISA, you will be required to enter a One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent to your mobile or email to confirm the transaction.
Step 10: One you have keyed in your OTP please wait for confirmation of the transaction. If you have registered for SMS alerts, a massage from the Bank will be sent you your phone with details of the transaction.
